“Hello,” she said, her voice soft but curious.
He turned, offering a smile that made her heart skip. “You must be Isla.”
Her breath hitched. “How do you know my name?”
“I’m Kai,” he said. “I’ve been waiting for you.”

Isla felt an inexplicable pull toward Kai. They walked along the shore, the conversation flowing as naturally as the waves. He spoke of distant islands and stories of lost loves, though he didn’t say much about himself.
“You’ve dreamt of this place, haven’t you?” Kai asked.
Isla stopped walking, startled. “How did you know?”
“Because I’ve seen you in those dreams,” he admitted. “I’ve waited lifetimes to find you again.”
Isla wanted to dismiss it as fantasy, but deep down, something resonated with his words. Memories she couldn’t explain began surfacing—visions of a life where they had walked these shores before, bound by love but separated by fate.
Kai stepped closer, his gaze intense yet gentle. “Do you believe in destiny?”
“I don’t know what I believe,” Isla said, her voice trembling. “But I feel like I know you.”

“They took you from me,” Kai said, his voice thick with emotion. “We were cursed to be separated across lifetimes. But somehow, I found you again.”
